I am writing to express my strong frustration regarding the sudden delay of my scheduled radiofrequency ablation (RFA) procedure.
After completing both required diagnostic lidocaine blocks, my RFA was scheduled for 9/1. While that was already a longer wait than ideal for someone in active pain, it was a target date I was relying on. Today, I was informed that my procedure is being rescheduled to 9/10 due to scheduling constraints, with no earlier options offered.
This is a specialized pain management practice, where timely intervention directly affects a patient's daily physical functioning and quality of life. Adding ten days of unnecessary pain to a patient who has already met all diagnostic prerequisites shows a clear disconnect between scheduling operations and patient care priorities.
I strongly urge management to review their procedure scheduling capacity and prioritize continuity of care for patients awaiting interventional relief.

Dr Kapteyn and the Staff at International Spine, Pain, and Performance Center were fantastic with my visit today. The transition from the military to the civilian side of life is a challenging time, made all the more so when there is a long career.
