When we left your office this afternoon. I said, to my daughter, Erika. I felt very confident, after speaking with the doctor’s assistant, the representative of the spinel implant device, as well as the doctor. With each individual I was ask questions pertaining to my Neuropathy, how it was affecting me. With each of the above individuals I expressed severity of pain, many nights in the week no sleep due to pain, many times falling outside….falling backwards & the back of my head slamming on the concrete. No quality of life!!!
Adding to the mix….I diagnosed, with Narcolepsy from Chemo & through the sleep study I was also diagnosed with Sleep apnea. I had two car accidents on I-495 & by God’s Grace the accident didn’t kill anyone or myself. I was unknowingly at the time passing out. This is when my doctors was checking my heart ( chemo could cause heart damage or heart attacks. I had 3 heart attacks….I was totally blacking out due to Narcolepsy….To be blunt!’ Me & my body has been through more than I would ever imagined.
My quality of life on a scale of 1/10 has been a 2 for the last few year's.
It was me, not my neurologist or other doctor’s I’ve expressed too. Something needs to be done….I literally can’t take this pain & zero quality of life anymore.
I did research & found this particular procedure, with an apparatus implanted in the spinal area to help alleviate if not alleviate the Neuropathy pain all together.
Interesting, that after I found the above information on this specialized information. I came across a questionnaire form on Neuropathy & how it’s affecting you. Several days after I had a call from the Company representative of the spinal device.
She felt I may be a candidate and would I like to have a consult with a doctor who utilizes’s this device, in their practice. The representative gave me the name of International Spine & Pain Performance …..office in VHC. I cannot say enough about VHC & the many doctors that have & or are still treating me. Indeed, I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Mehul Desai, MD, MPH of The International Spine & Pain Performance. I have the utmost confidence with him & what he thinks is best for me medically to help alleviate my pain , to hopefully give me a better quality of life. Dr. Desai listens to you & answers your questions….shares dialogue of additional info. If you will, Dr Desai has wonderful bedside manner’s & makes you feel comfortable when you are discussing such overwhelming intense pain. Some doctor’s seem to think pain is more in a females head, than what she is experiencing physically!!!
I’m sure this is a bit more info than was anticipated. Telling my Storey & prayerfully helping my pain, along with a better quality of life….. putting myself in the hands of Dr Desai, from a medical standpoint. I trust & have much confidence, with him as my doctor & The Spine & Pain Performance office whom he represents at VHC.

This was the first time I visited the practice. The staff were welcoming. Dr Dinh took the time to listen and respond to me as a person rather than as part of the crowd.
I was nervous going into the visit because of a previously bad experience with another pain clinic. There I felt like I was being processed for the insurance money.
Today’s visit was the exact opposite.

First 3 days I felt some pain and I toke some Tylenol like Dr. Dinh told me and it help, and with the days passing by it is getting much better and I hope that in few weeks I’ll be ok. Dr. Dinh and her staff are great, they made me fell very comfortable before, during and after my procedure.

Dr. Dinh asks pertinent questions and is a great listener. She makes you feel like you’re her only patient.

I went in with back and sciatic nerve pain and I felt Dr. Desai was very understanding, listened to what I had to say, answered my questions and let me decide what my plan would be for getting relief. We decided on PT and medication. I did a follow up and again he and his staff were very thorough and friendly. I have had bad doctors in the past and am quite leary when I have to see a new one. But I do highly recommend him.
